Spirited Citizenship Faith Alliance Tour

The Spirited Citizenship Faith Alliance Tour, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, will feature a New Angus Reid Institute analysis of Canadians’ attitudes toward faith and prayer in private and public life, and how religious plurality separates and brings us together.  It will also feature an early preview of Giving150, a first-of-its-kind innovation in charitable giving for all Canadians.

The tour takes place in Vancouver (March 28), Edmonton (March 29), Calgary (March 30), Ottawa (April 4), Montreal (April 5), Toronto (April 6), and Halifax (April 7).  Featured speakers include Ms. Shachi Kurl, Executive Director for the Angus Reid Institute, Co-chair of the Cabinet of Canadians, Dr. Andrew Bennett, Chair of the Cabinet of Canadians, Director of Cardus Law and Former Ambassador of Religious Freedom, and Mr. Greg Pennoyer, Director of Faith in Canada 150.

Spirited Citizenship is a part of Cardus’ Faith in Canada 150, which celebrates Canada’s 2017 150th anniversary. Spirited Citizenship is a research, networking and conversation initiative intended to stimulate greater public appreciation for the contribution of faith-motivated activities and organizations to Canada’s social fabric.  It will conduct extensive public opinion research into faith and the faithful in Canadian public life. Cardus and the Angus Reid Institute will release findings throughout 2017 with a view to stimulating public conversation.
