Annual Interfaith Iftar: Food Justice

On Saturday, June 2, 2018, in keeping with recent tradition, Noor Cultural Centre will be dedicating an interfaith iftar to promoting awareness about social justice. This year’s topic will be food wastage, sustainability and ethics. 

Program
7:15 p.m. | documentary film and discussion on food production, distribution and waste
8:53 p.m. | fast-breaking & maghrib prayers, followed by potluck dinner 

Everyone is welcome to join us for the entire program, whether fasting or not. Participants are invited – but not required – to bring a vegetarian/vegan dish to share with the group. This program is free, but registration is required.

If you are planning to bring a dish to the potluck:
– please email admin@noorculturalcentre.ca, noting whether your dish will be savoury or sweet.
– please note that all dishes should be vegetarian/vegan, and nut-free

Those who have not emailed beforehand may still bring a dish on the day of; however, advance notice is helpful for planning purposes.
