Multifaith Action Against Poverty

Faith-based groups will gather this year at the Auditorium of Noor Cultural Centre on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 7-9 pm for a multifaith action against poverty. October 17 marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, as declared by the United Nations in 1973.

The program at Noor will include a vegetarian dinner, followed by a panel discussion featuring expert presentations on the problem of poverty in Toronto from economic, policy, legal, and service perspectives, and action items.

Panelists' names will be shared shortly. Tickets for the event will be $15 (to cover the cost of the food).  Registration is through eventbrite.  There are options for free tickets for the unwaged, and for donations to cover such tickets.  Please note:  The ticket purchase deadline is Friday October 14.

Please join us if you would like to know more about how you can contribute to the efforts to end poverty in our city.  Also, we are inviting faith-based organisations to be Event Partners (below); if you or anyone else you know would be interested in joining, it would be a pleasure to have the company!

The partnering contribution of $100 may either be made via the eventbrite donation, or by cheque payable and mailed to Noor Cultural Centre, 123 Wynford Drive, Don Mills, ON M3C 1K1, attention of Samira Kanji, President.

Please consider sharing the event information and eventbrite registration with your lists even if you are not formally participating as Event Partner.
